Word Mater Ch.1

p.2         1. aye-aye---- is a nocturnal lemur, very strange looking creature that seems to have been assembled from bits of other animals.
p.2         2. Madagascar---- part of mainland Africa ( itself had been part of the gigantic supercontinent of Gondwanaland)
p.2         3. Descendant-----a person considered as descended from some ancestor or race
p.3         4. Laconic----brief and to the point; effectively cut short
p.4         5. slalom--a downhill race over a winding course defined by upright poles
p.4         5. Pothole---a pit or hole produced by wear or weathering (especially in a road surface)
p.5         6. reinstated----to put back or establish again, as in a former position or state
p.5         7. Bureaucracy----nonelective government officials
p.6         8. Prop----a support placed beneath or against something to keep it from shaking or falling
p.7         9. Kakapo----large, almost flightless nocturnal parrot
p.8         10. filofax--- a datebook also containing space for addresses, calendar, and etc
